Excited to share our latest #epigenetics and #memory manuscript published in @npp-journal.bsky.social We show that splice isoforms of histone macroH2A1 have distinct effects on memory and hippocampal gene regulation, especially memory suppressors. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

New preprint! In 2014, we showed that histone variants are new regulators of memory and ever since, we wondered if histone H2A.Z contributes to Alzheimer's. Using human brains and 5xFAD mice, we found that it depends on if you're male or female. Summary below. www.biorxiv.org/cgi/content/...

Opposing effects of H2A.Z on memory, transcription and pathology in male and female Alzheimer's disease mice and patients
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a devastating neurodegenerative disease that disproportionately impacts women, but underlying mechanisms for sex-divergent outcomes are unknown. Here, we show that the hist...

It is very easy to call your representatives’ offices. They have to log your calls and the call numbers are meaningful. You don’t even have to try to convince anyone; just call and tell them your concerns. They are there to represent you. Let them know what that means. www.usa.gov/elected-offi...
