Put another way, Ford wants to spend more on removing bike lanes in Toronto ($48M) than he's spent protecting all of Ontario's businesses from an international trade war. Ontario deserves serious leadership, that follows through on promises, and actually puts people before profits.

In ERs, we see the impact of unsafe roads regularly. Cities with good bike infrastructure have fewer deaths and greater safety for all, regardless of whether they’re walking, cycling or driving. Ontario gov should reconsider how to spend $48 mil Improve lives - not put them at risk #bikeTO #onpoli

So much respect for this, and the framing. ABC, the right wing version of Progress Toronto, has used health care workers/hospitals as reason to rip them out. This puts a lie to that (and on University ambulances can bypass cars in the wide bikelanes if needed). So many lies.

Only around 40% of rush hour traffic at Bloor and Shaw in Toronto is made up of cars. Before the bike lanes on Bloor, over 80% of traffic was cars. Now more commuters pass through the intersection, although raw number of cars has decreased. If you build it, they will come.

The tension in multiplex advocacy is to note that Edmonton with their higher unit cap, higher lot coverage, and lower (on average) lot size reqs are producing twice as many plexes as Toronto, while acknowledging plexes will not be a large share of new units in Toronto even under ideal circumstances.

No, I don't agree with that line specifically, we are 10x-15x higher cost on a per-km basis vs global peers. This is clarified in the article with some NYU data. I think this may just be a miswording: everyone is facing pressures, *yet* inflation-adjusted costs have not risen in low-cost countries.
