Large family office CIO told me about an "exclusive offer" for a bank feeder into one of the big multistrats: 8 year lockup with 2&40 fees, passthrough & a feeder vig. He's like why on earth would I do that for 8%..maybe 10% returns if I'm real lucky?

I love that kind of insatiable creativity. In a world where Damon can do anything he wants, he’s like “I’m gonna call up every artist I like and see what we can make together.” And then this kind of outspoken moment onstage has become a lot more significant in the past couple weeks.

When we took out a mortgage in early 2022, our broker tried to sell us on a 5/1 ARM “and you can just refinance when rates go back down.” (We got a 30 yr under 4.2%) There are lots of buyers who took this advice and are going to be in a lot of trouble over the next year or two.

Bessent is failing w the Yen and the 10 year. The upset was his pretense. He knows better. Rolling appropriations, no balanced budget, waste&fraud, Trump cannibalizing Our wealth and foolish Trump policies are the root cause. The Fed cannot help. Interest rates are a function of Fiscal Policy.

For example, if the Iran conflict turns into a spectacular symbolic failure, it'll probably be because a major warship gets sunk or a substantial assault is repelled. That would be dramatic. But the actual collapse is the decision-making process that led to that point, not the event itself.

I reported this for Quartz in 2020: qz.com/1909779/is-a...
Subhead: It crashes educations

Not being able to have an abortion can derail the career of a teen girl by severely interrupting her education, which can limit her career choices and bring down her income potential for the rest of her life. Teen girls who give birth before the age of 19 significantly reduce their chances of completing high school, from nearly 90% down to slightly more than 50%, according to a 2010 report by Child Trends, a non-partisan research organization that looked at a national sample of nearly 9,000 youth over a 10-year period.

Because educational attainment is so closely tied to income earnings in the US, girls who can’t have an abortion are more likely to end up in a low-skilled job and contribute less to the economy in general. They will pay less income taxes, spend and save less, and likely need more social assistance.
