To add context: what we know is that one pilot allegedly stabbed the other and tried to crash a plane traveling from Dubai to Israel. He was subdued and the plane safely landed, he was then arrested. Nothing else is clear yet. (This info via the associated press)

Pop songs are already engineered to an insane degree whether humans make them or not, and so conversely I think they may be the first to fall, rather than a sign AI music is replacing us. Especially if paired with a “star” of some kind. A “Tilly Nashville,” if you will.

So, in terms of production of new music, I think Suno is pretty impressive and we won’t be able to distinguish it reliably very soon. Big thing though: what AI cannot yet do is jam. It cannot, in real time, play along with someone and improvise based on what it hears. That’s the final frontier imo
