An advisor recently asked me to compare our product to a competitor. I said the other product was compelling and he should buy both, even if it meant less to ours. Maybe I'm just a shitty salesman, but in the end the advisor appreciated the honesty and we got a new allocation.

Most indications suggest hedge funds have been net short bonds for most of the year as yields have risen. Its been a good trade. Articles like this keep confusing inferred cash positions (used for basis trades, collateral, etc.) for long economic exposure. www.wsj.com/finance/inve...
