AI shouldn't be doing review *for you*, but 1) if you've submitted a manuscript and it's not also preprinted and in the public domain already, that's careless, 2) current generation AI is better than the best humans at some aspects of peer review--it would be a disservice NOT to use it

Michael, this reads as downright conspiratorial. Have you interacted in any way with NSF staff working on this? There’s extensive oversight. No/minimal human subject work is even likely to be funded. There is independent merit-based review. Where are you getting your info?

Fake screenshot from The Onion of a story headlined "Fuck Everything, We're Doing Five Agonists." The article reads, "Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the fucking vanguard of obesity drugs in this country. First it was GLP-1. Fine. Then they came out with tirzepatide, a GLP-1/GIP agonist. Were we scared? Hell, no. Because then came retatrutide. That's GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. But you know what happened next? I'll tell you what happened. The bastards kept going. Now they've got quintatide: GLP-1, GIP, glucagon, amylin and calcitonin. Five agonists. FIVE. Now we're all standing around counting receptor pathways on our fingers like idiots. Well, fuck it. We're doing five agonists."

Largely agree with this—clinical validation of drugs is an extremely small N universe, and it’s not feasible to validate human- vs AI-generated hypothesis prob of success. AI is much better suited to solving the sub-problems in drug dev (which vanilla machine learning was already pretty good at).
