Toronto bike lane removal. When your infrastructure project has huge police protection and the contractors hide the logos on their trucks and gear, you are in the wrong.

We found that the most gendered experience wasn’t work-life balance, the focus of most retention efforts. It was feeling devalued, in formal evaluations, but particularly in everyday interactions. Unlike every other topic, the gender gap in devaluation was larger among more senior faculty.

I have not actually got into amigurumi! I keep meaning to, but it’s been a long time since I did crochet, and there never seems to be enough time for all the projects. THIS, however, may be that impetus… 😄

GOOD NEWS! Phase I clinical trial results show a first-of-its-kind personalized vaccine designed to treat glioblastoma, a deadly and aggressive form of brain cancer, is safe AND elicits robust and broad immune responses that appears to INCREASE recurrence-free survival in patients after surgery.

Deep brain stimulation is one of my favorite surgeries. It’s still amazing to me to see tremor turned off and on with a push of a button. One of our patients was featured in a local news story. He’s really been a tremendous advocate for other Parkinson’s patients 🩺

So that has been happening. Doctors and nurses are burning out and leaving emerg work in droves. And I'm assuming this account is in the city? Rural emergency depts have been understaffed for decades. The bosses don't tend to hire new people though. They just close the emerg.

Border collies are such super high energy dogs. My mom used to go out with a tennis ball and a racket, hit the ball as hard as she possibly could for the dog to chase and retrieve, for at least 20 min a couple of times a day. 😄 🎾

I made these!!!! For my late father, a professor of Old English.
A pair of knitted socks, with a light brown background and the text of Beowulf in Old English done in black colourwork. The sock pictured on the left starts off with “Hwaet!” and the poem continues down that sock and then on again down from the top of the one pictured on the right.

These were absolute insanity to knit, and incorporate many many hours of my life, some cursing, and all my love for my dad who used to read me The Silmarillion as a bedtime story. No, in intracranial hypertension, there’s raised intracranial pressure (ICP) & the ventricles aren’t enlarged (often they’re very small & compressed.) In NPH, ICP is normal despite build-up of cerebrospinal fluid & enlarged ventricles. Pathophysiology not fully understood (ie, why ICP is normal 🤔)
