Iʼm two episodes into The Fall of the House of Usher (Netflix) but would highly recommend it for anyone looking for horror to watch this month. Forget the Edgar Allan Poe references, the premise is: Succession but you get to watch them all die horribly.

After a few monthsʼ break so I forgot the details, a reread and revising it from start to finish, I felt good enough about The Novel that I have sent it to three friends. Itʼs a nerve-racking experience and thatʼs *before* I try to decipher their feedback to uncover how shit they really think it is

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Wonder if it has something to do with having a vibe that can easily slot into "chill" playlists that people will have on absent-mindedly? Whatever the reason, they are the worst band I've seen live, looking so bored and like they actively resented having an audience in front of them.

My partner told me that his top series is Enterprise and, for some reason, I have not called off the wedding. (In the early days we would fall asleep while watching it, an ideal choice as it's never so interesting it kept you awake. TOS has been much harder, though season 3 is highly snoozeable.)

Realizing the extent to which this is true wildly changed my opinions about how to deal with Trumpism, since they're never going to be satisfied unless they're actively dominating everyone else. You can't give them some concessions and go back to the status quo: they're reactionary revolutionaries.
