Your tech breaks. Buying new seems cheaper than repairing. We’re making the Right to Repair the new standard in Europe.
Graphic designed as a smartphone screen with a cracked display, showing a humorous decision tree about repairing broken tech. The title reads, “Should I toss my broken tech?” It asks, “Do I hate money?” If yes: “A bit!” If no: “Is it under warranty?” If yes: “Repair it! BOOM: free 1-year warranty extension!” If no: “Am I a billionaire?” If no: “Fix it! Spare parts for up to 10 years.” If maybe: “Soon: EU site for cheap local repairs.” A repair icon and battery symbol appear at the top, and the EU flag is shown in the bottom left corner.

some background on the dialog leak, uuh sorry i mean, international hacker conspiracy or whatever dialogs lawyers are calling it again
section from the quoted article: The exposure first came to light after maia arson crimew—a Swiss journalist and cybersecurity researcher who was indicted in the US in 2021 on hacking-related charges but has not been convicted of any crimes—received tips from two sources, she says. One had been reviewing US Department of Justice records related to Jeffrey Epstein when they noticed Dialog’s name on an invitation sent to a third party in 2012, which had been forwarded to the infamous sex offender, and grew curious about the secretive group. A second source later pointed crimew to the retreat app.
crimew says she neither exploited a software flaw nor bypassed any security measures to access the Dialog data, and viewed the same records that were available to every visitor’s browser.

Ireland said this at the International Court of Justice over two years ago, in February 2024. It still hasn't lived up to its own words.
37. In Ireland's view, these obligations
require all States, as well as international
organisations with external trade
competence (in Ireland's case, the EU). to
review their trading relationships with the
settlements in the OPT. It requires them to
take steps to prevent trade that assists in
the maintenance of the situation created by
the settlement activity, or that implicitly
recognises or serves to entrench or
legitimise Israel's settlement or annexation
of that territory.

I personally got no benefits when I was put on sertraline when I was a teenager, but it is just cruel and stupid to even suggest outright banning SSRI's. At most you could try to move to a care model that prioritises therapy over meds, but that would cost money so that would be bad.

The first programmers were women who went from writing code that looks like the above, to writing code that looks like this, the Apollo 11 mission guidance computer. And even then, it was gendered as women's work.
A page of the actual assembly code used in the Apollo 11 Guidance Mission Computer, head programmer of which was Margaret Hamilton. You may have seen the picture of her standing, grinning, next to a stack of printed binders taller than she is containing the entire program.

Each line is extremely terse instructions for the computer to follow:

TC ERASLOOP
CCS SKEEP2
TC NOEBANK
INCR SKEEP2

TS CYR # C(CYR) = 12525

etc.

Once you build in that habit of just immediately going to an LLM when you don't get something it can be really hard to break, and you can get to a point where your response to any intellectual friction is to just open Claude and let it sort it out.

Gal @gal369.bsky.social · 18/04/2026
LLM's are especially insidious when it comes to learning. I'm doing a part time college course while working and the amount of my classmates who feed the majority of their work straight to an LLLM is insane to me. They don't really think about it themselves first, just straight to claude. 1/2

that all code changes from a junior now has to be manually reviewed and approved by a senior, if anything that is creating more work then before not less. Some industries have been changed forever by LLM's like copywriting, but I don't think it will have the advertised seismic impact. 2/2

Personally I don't agree with the AI taking all jobs narrative. If you look at software dev's, the majority of cases I have seen of companies hard forcing AI onto employees has gone terribly, like Amazon as an example. They had so many issues with ai code (from the llm they forced usage of) 1/2

My core frustration is that the actual Irish people have been pro palestine forever, but especially in recent years with how dependent we have became on US tech, our government has been so slow to act on those desires, and has always been so cautious despite how horrific israel is.
