This is only maddening if you hold the expectation that the goal is to finish the book. Sometimes they just want to look at their favorite page together. (The maddening thing is when they want the same book 700 times in a row.)

So much this. Just as conveying information to the instructor is not the point of writing a paper in school.

I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al

Hannah Arendt defined totalitarianism as “organized loneliness”. I can’t think of a better definition of what AI and chat bots want to push us into, financed and designed by literal totalitarians

Also do the honest work of eliminating any trace of plagiarism in your beloved product. How? Not my fucking problem! If you can’t run your business / technology without stealing other people’s work, it deserves to die. Personally I’m happy to see it die, so don’t try to make it my responsibility.

The genAI-created episode of Doctor Who is streamable at www.theunmadeseason.com and, though you wouldn't know it from the media coverage, is explicitly a right-wing reaction to The Doctor being alternately a woman and a Black man (source: www.tumblr.com/lizardsfroms...).
Also one of the few pieces of evidence that the writer of this show even exists is an interview he did with a Youtube channel (notably, he didn't actually *appear* in the interview but answered questions in the chat). A Youtube channel that does videos complaining about TV shows being "woke" and that British people are judged "more harshly" than asylum seekers. And one of his first comments is complaining about politics and "forced" diversity. Seems like coverage of this AI Doctor Who show should mention that but every single one takes the angle that it's a gee-whiz anorak making a show on his computer and isn't that exciting?

How, exactly, inserting a new character into a made-up regeneration scene counts as bringing "a unmade season" to life I'm not sure. Why Doctor Who would have a unmade season and not a unmade series I'm also not sure.

A thing I learned about Meta when I was trying to understand how their statements relate to their actions a few years ago is that *they just tell absolutely indefensible lies* and journalists almost always let them. They believed no one would ever punish them for it in any way that matters.

From his description he's not even pronouncing the voiced retroflex affricate correctly. The tongue isn't "further back" in a retroflex, the tongue TIP should be curled back. It's like he's never even seen one in a midsagittal diagram. I bet he can't find a clitic either.

The US already got a do over. A mulligan. A second chance. Much of the world, especially US allies, were ready to write off Trump’s first term as a fluke. The American people’s choice to put him back in power—as a convicted felon, after an openly bigoted, anti-democracy campaign—showed it was not.

If God is gonna convert a person then God is gonna convert a person. What hubris of us to think we should go about harassing people into a faith. A person's relationship with the divine is between them and the divine and unless they ask you to get involved, you stay the hell out of it.
