Random people who think it’s their job to second guess / fact check my story or whatever, no. Especially if you aren’t a media professional, don’t worry about it. Media types will already know the Believer’s facts are fucking watertight …

I always come away from @sandyernestallen.bsky.social's writing moved by his humanity and by the humanity of his subjects, whom he holds with such gentleness and care. He accomplishes with words exactly what he describes Loren Rex Cameron accomplishing with photography.

I mean, I’m aware? And my piece isn’t engaged in anything even remotely resembling this. That LRC had an also trans sister who was on TNG was in my view pretty widely known. I’m honestly surprised so many fans were oblivious.

I'd not heard of Loren Rex Cameron before reading this, & now I'm feeling a lot of things. There's much to think on, both beautiful & sad, but this hit me particularly hard. "They’d ask about dealing with their families or if they’d ever be loved. One had emailed simply, “your photos give hope.”"

Lots of trans guys I’ve talked to have had a Loren Rex Cameron story, and this is mine: Some years ago now, when I worked up the courage to confess to my spouse that I wanted top surgery—we were newly...

I got accused earlier of transvestigating Cameron by somebody who’d clearly not bothered to read anything ... and meanwhile had cis Trekkies dudes in my mentions saying there’s no way she’s trans and this had to be two people, yadda yadda … Amongst others taking it upon themselves to fact check me …

this is just so cool to know. star trek is maybe the only thing I am really a "fan" of in the emotionally invested sense and TNG was some of my first trek. I am actually crying a little right now, silly but true. she was there the whole time

This is a beautiful portrait of Loren Rex Cameron. I love this tidbit: "By James’s recollection, Loren said: 'I’m going to teach myself photography and document my transition,' & James thought that was a great idea."

Yeah, true heads will note the character’s introduction, which as I recall: She’s there playing a beautiful woman whom Riker can’t help but stare at. This is also true on an episode of Seinfeld (vis a vis George) …
