Time for another planned Link light rail service disruption, featuring diagrams I created as per usual. 😁
A diagram outlining the details of an upcoming disruption to Sound Transit’s Link light rail service.

On Tuesday, October 6; Wednesday, October 7; and Thursday, October 8, from approximately 10:30 PM until the end of service each night, 1 Line service will be suspended between Northgate and Westlake, and 2 Line service will be suspended between Lynnwood City Center and Westlake.

1 Line service will follow the usual schedule between Lynnwood City Center and Northgate, and between Westlake and Federal Way Downtown. 2 Line service will follow the usual schedule between Westlake and Downtown Redmond. 2 Line service will not operate between Lynnwood City Center and Northgate; riders must board a 1 Line train between these stations.

Link shuttle buses will provide replacement service along affected stations every 10 to 15 minutes. Riders must transfer to a Link shuttle bus or alternative bus service to continue their trip along affected stations. An alternative diagram outlining the details of an upcoming disruption to Sound Transit’s Link light rail service, featuring a calendar with affected days highlighted, and clock faces showing the disruption start and end times.

Next week the City of Kirkland is poised to advance a rebrand for the neighborhood around its forthcoming inline BRT station at I-405 and NE 85th St, as "the Rise District." Also in contention: the Forge District and the Union District.
Aerial photo of the interchange being rebuilt with roundabouts in placeElevation, growth. Plateau is high ground.
● "We just broke ground on the Rise." "She works up on the Rise."
● Noun and verb.
● One syllable against Rose Hill, Norkirk, Juanita, Houghton,
Totem Lake, Bridle Trails, etc.
● Scales well: Rise Building, Rise Station, Rise Park.
● Plain enough that a bakery, gym, coffee shop can all carry it
without explaining it.Candidates: the Rise District, the Forge District, and the Union District

An alternative diagram of an upcoming planned Link light rail service suspension, featuring a calendar and clock faces to visually show the affected days and times.

The affected days are Tuesday, September 1st; Wednesday, September 2nd; Thursday, September 3rd; and Thursday , September 10th. The suspension affects the 2 Line, and begins approximately at 10:30 PM each of those days, until the end of service.

2 Line service will be suspended between South Bellevue and Overlake Village stations, and Link shuttle buses will provide replacement service during those times on affected days.

Thinking about how King County Metro is adding four hundred bus trips tomorrow compared to the week prior and FIVE HUNDRED trips on Sunday. It's going to take a lot of work to maintain those service levels into the future, but it's been awesome watching Metro embrace the idea of an all-week network.

I am the mom of a wonderfully active child. As she grows, I want her to find belonging, joy, and friendship at school and, if she chooses, while competing in school sports.

The Supreme Court's decision yesterday allowing states to exclude transgender athletes from women’s and girls’ sports teams threatens this vision for trans kids and families, and for all of us who want sports to be a welcoming and life-affirming experience for all our kids.

Regardless of this decision, students in Washington continue to have a right to play on the sports team aligned with their gender identity. But we must be vigilant in continuing to protect all students’ right to be free from gender discrimination. Let’s keep Washington safe and welcoming for all students.
