From the project webpage. Like many streets in the north and south ends of Seattle, 1st Ave NE does not have continuous sidewalks. Though it won't be ready before the opening of Pinehurst Station in two days (September 30), SDOT has finished design on a new 12-foot-wide biking and walking trail between NE 130th Street and James Baldwin Elementary School at NE 120th Street. City Light will be moving utility poles soon, then construction on the trail will begin in early 2027. The path should be open in late summer or fall 2027.

If approved in early November, Community Transit would take over Everett Transit operations on April 1, 2027, with the existing Everett Transit network as its service baseline. A 50% increase in bus service would follow, to be fully implemented by 2030.
