Had a LOT of fun designing these Ivy and Harley costumes for Poison Ivy in Briarwood (coming out this November of DC Go!) #art 🌹✨
Costume designs for Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, in the upcoming Poison Ivy in Briarwood DC Go webcomic.
Ivy: Dressed a 'medieval' green witch dress, with flowing long skirt layers and billowing half-sleeves. She wears an off the shoulder blouse below a corset top. Her red hair is long and partially tied back with braids.
Harley: Wearing a venetian jester outfit reminiscent of her classic suit, with long hat jangles, a ruffled collar and skirt, and puffy sleeves. the outfit is patterned with stripes and checkerboard all in black, red, and white. she has a small black diamond painted underneath each eye.

Get rid of that hero fantasy and eradicate the causes.
Shot of a comic page, with a wastepaper bin containing a golden statue, upside down, with "Big Hero" at the bottom.

Text boxes "And who are honestly making a difference in the real world --"

"Rather than just standing around believing that 'Hero' means there's still blood on the floor".

From The Hero Fantasy comic by Paul Tobin, Dustin Weaver and Bernardo Brice.

also thinking a lot about how #MeToo apparently went too far, when it’s quite obvious now that it didn’t go far enough. it didn’t really go anywhere. there were no lasting consequences of that cultural moment beyond people making jokes about it.

Blood boys OVER we’re out here Renfieldmaxxing now
He’s on a quest to live forever.
Mr. Emanuel’s morning routine involves waking up at 4 a.m., stretching for 40 minutes and then doing breath work, sauna, meditation, an ice plunge and infrared light therapy before ingesting a protein shake and a cup of live worms to fight off “the bad bacteria in my gut.” He describes a recent lunch with his old CAA boss, Michael Ovitz. Mr. Emanuel writes: “He goes to the gym; he thinks that means he’s taking care of himself. But it doesn’t. I scold him. He hasn’t gotten his blood work done in years, he isn’t doing ice plunges, he isn’t doing daily breath work, he isn’t fasting. And he needs to be eating worms.”

Positive: 12 miles of car replaced with bike! Negative: Can't put on any of the attachments. 5/8 bolts needed taken off were stripped on delivery (you can see the scalloped markings where they torqued too hard into crappy bolts). We'll see if their (lectric) customer service is worth anything.
Blue lectric e-bike with two pads on the back sits in a messy garage.

Yesterday, put together our new e-bike and was pretty discouraged (one of the bolts was stripped and couldn't install the cargo/cage on the back). We could put the pads in without though, and today, replaced 7 miles of car errands with biking! And kiddo loves it, and was showing it off to friends.

1. Huey is on the phone calling the FBI's terrorism tip line: "I'm very serious, I know of several Americans who have helped train and finance Osama Bin Laden"

2. "And how did you come by this information? "A little investigating. It wasn't that hard, actually."

Thinking about them* today *Flagee and Ribbon
Aaron McGruder's comic strip The Boondocks, published October 19, 2001

Three panels:
1. Editor's note: For the select few who are not daily readers of the comics, "The Boondocks" has been indefinitely replaced by the uproarious fun of "The Adventures of Flagee and Ribbon."
2. A yellow ribbon icon says: Hey, Flagee, I heard someone on the radio say that if we kill innocent people, we're no better than the terrorists. An American flag image replies: "That's left-wing, radical-hippie-communist thinkin', Ribbon
3. Flagee: "You talk like that again, I'll have to drag you out into the street and shoot you myself!" Robbin: "Yes, Flagee."

It's World Suicide Prevention Day. I've been there. If you need help, PLEASE reach out and seek help. There's no weakness in that. I'm glad I did. We're grateful you're here. You ain't a burden, you ain't alone. You're valued and loved. It gets better, one day at a time. You got this. You matter.
Text on a white background in which we see pictures of arms engaged in a hug, a smiley face, an ear, and two people sitting next to each other.

The text reads:

btw,
a hug is suicide prevention
a smile is suicide prevention
listening is suicide prevention

Don't forget that you may know people going through it & burying their struggles deep. There's so much stigma surrounding mental health issues. Breaking down that wall of stigma is EVERYTHING. Start a conversation. Show folks they matter. Listen to them. You could make a life-changing difference.
For World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th:

Remember to check-in on people who:

-have been quiet lately
-never ask for help
-always seem happy
-come across as 'strong'
-seem to have it all 'figured out'
-are going through life transitions
-are always there for everyone else
-say they're 'fine'
-you haven't heard from recently

Well, what I always say, "I just want everybody to be treated good." I try not to get into the politics of everything. I try to get into the human element of it. I have some of everybody in my own immediate family and in my circle of employees. I've got transgender people. I've got gays. I've got lesbians. I've got drunks. I've got drug addicts — all within my own family. I know and love them all, and I do not judge.

And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are. I know how important this is to them. That's who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there's something to be judged, that is God's business. But we are all God's children and how we are is who we are.

Starbucks Workers United @sbworkersunited.org · 25/08/2026
🚨BREAKING: Our union of over 12,000 baristas are officially calling for a Starbucks boycott. Read this statement penned by Starbucks workers on why a boycott from ALL customers, allies, and organizations is necessary to fight back against corporate greed:
BOYCOTT STARBUCKS is written inside a zig-zaggy speech bubble against crumbled paper. Beside it are the Starbucks Workers United logo and an image of a coffee cup being poured out.We, the 12,000 and growing members of Starbucks Workers United, call on everyone who stands with working people to boycott Starbucks until they finalize a contract with union baristas and stop union-busting.
What we’re fighting for is simple: a minimum $17/hr wage, enough hours to live on, better staffing in our stores, and basic workplace protections. Every year, our living costs rise but our wages don’t keep up – a growing pressure many American workers are feeling as corporate greed accelerates unchecked in our country.
Starbucks is banking on customers' blind loyalty to the integrity and values this company once stood for in order to keep squeezing them for profits. At a time when working-class people across the country are struggling in a challenging economy, it is no longer possible to be both a Starbucks customer and in support of workers; choosing to spend money at Starbucks is choosing a law breaking corporation over the baristas who make your coffee everyday exactly as you ask for it.
Starbucks has violated U.S. labor law more than any other company in modern history–the NLRB and its judges have found that Starbucks committed hundreds of labor violations and there are currently more than 550 unresolved unfair labor practice charges still pending against the company. Instead of finalizing a fair and reasonable union contract, Starbucks has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of care for the workers who fuel the company’s profits by wasting millions of dollars on AI and technology that doesn’t work, launching countless gimmicky drinks designed to distract from real problems, and inventing pointless policies that do nothing but make our jobs harder.
This ongoing, irrational behavior by Starbucks and its refusal to settle a fair union contract with workers leaves us with no other choice than to call for a boycott. We know when working people stand up together, we win.
No Contract? No Coffee.
