i wrote and drew this one before i decided to take a real swing at pip and gunko as a big boy webcomic, so it isn’t up on the site yet and won’t be for a while, but regardless! i drew it while dragging myself out of the lowest point of burnout and i think it’s one of the best comics i’ve done so far

when i worked in radio i started in social media and my entire job was going to events and posting an update on three platforms for two different stations and wording things in a way that worked for the vibe of each audience. you COULD automate that? but guess what. I'm super good at condensing now.

I learned so much work and life skills by doing the grunt work myself for years. All those things AI companies deem "automatable". Do I "enjoy" doing my taxes? Reading contracts? Managing files? Not really. But I'm now relatively good at a bunch of "adult" stuff that don't seem that daunting now.

Take writing a newsletter for example. It takes 5-7 hours of work each month, from drafting to sending it out. But as an unexpected side effect, writing about my projects with enthusiasm has made me really good at writing grant applications and pitches. The tedious work IS part of the work.

just looking at some stats. i have about 5.6k followers on IG. about a year ago i was getting 300-700 views on stories when i had fewer followers, and lately i’ve been noticing i’m lucky if i get 100. is this a trend across the board or are people just sick of me hahaha i will accept either answer

thinkin about my childhood cat, marilyn. she was the most perfect angel of a cat and i still miss her. when i was 5 my grandma's cat had kittens. i would bring them all out to the living room, and she'd take them back to the nest one by one, always leaving marilyn for me. had her until i was 22!
