Elon Musk is basically pointing at Trump. He is obviously trying to protect Starlink from the economic fallout this incident created. With several European nations starting to question services by Starlink and India actively pushing back, this has become a serious problem for Musk and SpaceX.

Toronto bike lane removal. When your infrastructure project has huge police protection and the contractors hide the logos on their trucks and gear, you are in the wrong.

Katie Zacharia’s first press briefing was awful, but no more so than any public appearances of Trump, Vance, Hegseth, Miller, RFK Jr, etc. Yet the press is treating her like some kind of outlier. Plus, Karoline Leavitt lied to their faces on a daily basis and they fucking loved her.

Absolute scenes from Toronto, where a critical mass of lovely human beings on bikes has seen off the trucks sent (by the culture-warring Premier Doug Ford) to rip out the bike lanes... ...while chanting "get home safe" to the workers 🥹 Inspirational, iconic, great work @cycletoronto.bsky.social!

So we are warring with Iran And Russia is supplying weaponry to Iran. And we are paying Russia to send us diesel fuel. Because we are warring with Iran the ships with the diesel can't get to us. So we are buying it from Russia, which... Yeah, this is some three-dimensional chess right here.

Seed Shanty
Song birds sing a sea shanty aboard a schooner boat loaded to the deck with bags of seed: “Seed, Seed, Seed! All the seed we need!”

Captain Robin Cornwallis has seen something through his spy-glass which causes him grave concern, even as the singing continues (“On this we are agreed…”)Spyglass view: A pirate ship approaches. At every level of the ship, it is crawling with scurvy, rascally squirrels, each with their eyes aimed at the bird’s ship. “Seed, seed, seed!” the crew continues.

Elsa Lanchester? She was very pretty. A total cutie-patootie. However, experts agree that the one role where she was really "hot" was as the titular bride in the "Bride of Frankenstein." What every man truly desires is a jittery, hissing monster who hates them. It's science.

One of the main Jewish critiques of Christian notions of forgiveness is that they offer cheap grace to people who have not done the hard work of making material amends. Claims like this are actually reinforcing that very critique, even if Chris Rock thinks he is doing the opposite.

They quoted me in this New Yorker piece about AI today. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”
