Today I was visiting Freiburg am Breisgau and while attempting to use a public toilet I witnessed a turd so large that I know the memory of it will haunt me for the rest of my life. I estimate it was rearing up around half a foot out of the water and was the width of an adult man's arm.

I agree with this piece - I don't really wear headphones when out and about - and find the extreme strong reaction to it fascinating and a bit depressing, especially as the angle is "it's nice to live in a society, must we all be in our little auditory bubbles all the time"

Genuinely kind of suprised by how vociferously people are objecting to the idea of taking off headphones. I find few things more creatively stimulating than going for a walk and listening to the world go by, and I'd have definitely missed out on some memorable conversations with strangers.
