Carney telling the European Parliament that what's needed is an alliance - his word, repeated - where nobody gets to tell the EU and Canada what to do. Good *LORD*. And met with a standing ovation. Well, that's that for the previously-existing form of Atlanticism, then.

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

Vote for Shapinsay to Create a Community Space which “would lift the whole island.”
"The Gas House has been part of this island for as long as we can remember. To finally see its ground come back to life, with people growing things, playing and spending time together, would mean so much to everyone here." - Lisa-Marie Muir, Community Development Officer, Shapinsay Development Trust The land around Shapinsay's historic Gas House could be transformed into a community garden and heritage mini golf course, after the site was shortlisted for funding through Certas Energy's Community Bloom Fund.

One of the first "outrageous" claims I saw as Jason Arday's media hounding unfolded was that he ran 30 marathons in 35 days! Wow! What a thing to claim! And the newspapers all suggested there was no evidence he actually did it. Well, they clearly didn't look very hard 🙄 🧵 1/26

I'm struck again by the argument we've heard a lot about recently that the media has the "right to ask questions." Certainly. But surely those questions are supposed to be asked by journalists *before* going to print, not *in* print. I can see scope for the former. Surely the standard is the latter.
