All I know about Simon of Trent is that you can’t say his name in a conversation about 21st century subject matter without sounding like an utter maniac. Nobody normal cares about Simon of Trent, even real historians with peer reviewed papers think he’s mid at best.

Hmm yep working in healthcare (even from the govt side rather than coalface) my take would definitely be that consumer entertainment tech has lost a bit of a spark, but if you have any kind of medical condition, esp. a rarer one, wishing for a world of more than about three weeks ago is just insane

I saw Dance was born in the 40s so I was thinking his dad would have been born in the late 1890s and in his late 40s when Charlie boy was born. He was born in 1876! Fought in the Boer war and was in his 70s when CD was born. One of Charles’s half sisters was born in the 19th century!

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

Their fundamental problem is that customs union or single market or bespoke Swiss-style treaties will leave them as rule-takers. I mean, it's happening already bit by bit, as they look to sign up to SPS agreements etc., but I can't see the public letting it continue indefinitely.

I know they rejected 🇳🇴🇨🇭and 🇨🇦 treaty models in the months after Brexit - they were all lesser by designation than full membership - but I still think one of those options is more likely than rejoining. The face loss of going back would be too much.
