Rainfall totals will build through Friday across the northwest 🌧️ Driven by strong southwesterly winds, the heaviest and most persistent rain will focus on western hills. Widely 30-50mm is likely, with some higher totals possible in a few favoured locations.

1976) Wickerbot. Helps keep visitors to your remote island community toasty and warm.
A crude effigy of a small robot constructed with gnarled sticks lashed together. Its body is a rough sphere, and is hollow, with kindling piled up at the bottom. The top ends of the sticks don't join in the middle, instead forming a kind of jagged crown. Its arms and legs are made of bunched sticks, and its hands are sort of spherical baskets with crooked twigs for fingers. The robot's smiling mouth consists of a rough triangle of sticks lashed to its front, while its eyes are two sections of tree stump, each hung from one of the horizontal struts of its body. The robot is ablaze, fire climbing up from the kindling in its belly and flickering out of its top, while the background is softly shaded to show the glow emanating from the robot.

603) Tubabot. Ideal for both orchestral accompaniment and for punctuating another hilarious disappointment. #SmallRobotsRemastered
A robot in the form of a tuba with banded arms and legs It's body (i.e. the tuba) is shaded to look like reflective metal, its face on the conical bore (big funnel bit) blowing into its mouthpiece, which is on an extended tube from the opposite side of the instrument (because, interestingly and unintentionally, I used an image of a smaller tuba designed to be held at shoulder height for reference, rather than the more conventional style with the mouthpiece closer to the bell), and it has its eyes closed. The robot's arm is connected to one of the many looping pipes, emerging from within the workings to manipulate the valves mounted in the middle. Wide waves emerging from the bell indicate the bassy sound produced by the robot.

Your beloved has brought you a plate of eels. This is good news! Right? RIGHT? Well...in premodern England eel was a common enough meal that it sometimes got used to disguise poison. What's that, you ask? Is it it time for a thread about murder-by-eels? Yes. Yes it is. 1/5 🗃️🧪
Meme. Painting of six people sitting at a table laden down with food, looking startled as a skeleton taps one of them on the shoulder. The skeleton is standing behind the person on the far right, tapping with its left bony hand & holding a class in her other. The tapee has his hand over his chest & a look of shock on his face: the sort of expression you would get if you walked in on your great aunt Sue in the middle of a menage a trois with some other folks from the assisted living facility.

The others characters at the table are all either leaning away from the doomed soul, or actually falling backwards in fear. Curiously, the one 3rd from the left, hidden in the shadows, looks like an angry Abraham Lincoln. But what would he be doing here? He doesn't look like part of the company; perhaps he's working with the skeleton to settle a score (one of 4, likely). The better angels of our nature, overcome by the skeleton of his revenge.

Meme text reads:

deelightfully deadly"
