I walked Offa's Dyke in Sep and didn't expect how it would change me. I think that everybody should experience this remarkable landscape - so I've created an immersive page with images, words and maps to take you there from you armchair. www.digest.andymarsh...

My watercolour from my visit this week to the delightful lychgate and church of All Saints, Alrewas in Staffordshire - the church tower is C14th but holds a west door of around 1200.

In Howden, Yorkshire, I love how the sky becomes part of the architecture - the view is constantly changing. The magnificent minster of St. Peter and St. Paul is a real hidden gem and the beating heart to one of the country’s loveliest town centres.

Time seems to gather in the gables at the beautiful Turton Tower in Lancashire. Carved timber, quatrefoiled plaster and ochre sandstone jostle together in one glorious whole. A visual delight.

😯 A glorious mash-up of time and place. I had to blink twice when I first saw this – a real-life Hobbit house tucked into the ruined west front of the Abbey of St Edmund at Bury St Edmunds. Heading back soon..

✨What do we miss when we hurry through a place? Along Offa’s Dyke, I find hidden histories, copper butterflies and a village that saved its pub. Come and take a look 👉 : www.digest.andymarsh...

Sometimes the greatest treasures are hiding in plain sight. At St Ellyw’s, Wales, a medieval rood screen survives - painted in ox-blood, with a trace of a ghost rood still visible above. A real glimpse into a medieval church. More photographs here 📸 👉 www.digest.andymarsh...

I still find it remarkable how much of Offa’s Dyke survives here on the approach to Montgomery - an earthwork more than 1,200 years old, still threading through the landscape. Have walked 50 miles of Offa’s Dyke path so far this week.
