For contrast, back when there were heavy EV subsidies from the state and federal government I wandered into a Chevy dealership and left with a volt for 2k down and permanent 0% apr because they had already made their money on it from the government. I have no clue why it was on that slide or who put it there, and every member of the crew I worked with is 100% against AI. A lot of people have been asking why we removed our statement addressing Amy Acton’s comments regarding transgender athletes. As a new caucus, we are still learning the ropes when it comes to being an internal part of the ODP. While operating outside of the party, we were afforded a bit more freedom with respect to our communications with the public. By posting a statement without going through the official approval process we inadvertently broke the rules we agreed to when we were recognized as an internal caucus. 😬
We don’t necessarily agree with this policy and we are still negotiating how we can best comply with the party’s regulations while continuing to advocate for our members. However, despite our protests, ODP insisted that the post be removed and we follow procedure.
After deleting the original statement, we promptly asked about submitting the post for approval through the proper channels so that it could be reposted. At this point, ODP staff informed us that a meeting with Acton was on the table. After thorough discussion, caucus leadership determined this offer aligned with our goal to bring our message directly to her.
We believe she stands the best chance of winning in November by having a full picture of what her constituents want and we are glad she has agreed to meet with us. This is a good sign. We will advocate for her campaign to stop making ineffective right-wing concessions and focus on her plan to make all our lives affordable. She is our only option in this race and not a single Ohioan will be better off if her Republican opponent is elected to office. We are looking forward to working with her and helping her to better understand these nuanced issues so she is able to WIN – which will undoubtedly take the support of EVERYONE on the collective Left!
