To enable on-ride music, we hauled: ✔️1 talented saxophonist w/ saxophone in hand ✔️1 folding bike ✔️ 1 trailer ✔️ 1 saxophone case And still had room to haul another bike with @lauragmitchell.com ‘s Tow Monster (but wasn’t needed). Next up: full band on cargo bikes?
2 Bunch cargo trikes are parked next to each other. One has a folding bike in it, and the other has a saxophonist holding his saxophone and smiling. They are at a park.

As I was walking downtown today it really hit me how the true vibrancy of a city doesn’t come from a never changing set of businesses but from people constantly reinventing themselves and the city around them. That is the real character we risk losing if we prioritize nostalgia over people.

Last week @nissamitchell.com and I were driving on Lyndale and found ourselves in the dreaded situation where a new median prevented a left turn we needed to make. Incredibly, Nissa found a genius way out of this horrific situation: she drove another block and then made the turn. Wild, I know.

I am once again begging @minneapolismn.gov to ban right turn on red for drivers. I just had yet another close call with a driver so eager to turn right on red that they didn’t notice the leading ped interval. They almost ran me over right after I stepped into the crosswalk w/ a ped signal.

I live on a half lot in a house built in 1918 and it was notably cheaper because of it's small lot. Which I still find strange bc we still have a front and back yard and a driveway (but no garage), so really it's just less land to take of which is great for me! Make this kind of building legal again

Just a friendly reminder from your local tenant's rights lawyer: in Minnesota your landlord can't make you shovel the walk (or do any sort of maintenance) unless they're directly compensating you for the work. Minn. Stat. § 504B.161, subd. 2. www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cit...
§Subd. 2.Tenant maintenance. The landlord or licensor may agree with the tenant or licensee that the tenant or licensee is to perform specified repairs or maintenance, but only if the agreement is supported by adequate consideration and set forth in a conspicuous writing. No such agreement, however, may waive the provisions of subdivision 1 or relieve the landlord or licensor of the duty to maintain common areas of the premises.

This is who the Whittier neighborhood in Minneapolis is named for
John Greenleaf Whittier (December 17, 1807 - September 7, 1892) was an American Quaker poet and advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States. Frequently listed as one of the fireside poets, he was influenced by the Scottish poet Robert Burns. Whittier is remembered particularly for his anti-slavery writings, as well as his 1866 book Snow-Bound.
