Also: If you want crispy edges and gooey middles, form the dough for each cookie into a cylinder instead of a sphere, and keep the dough super cold until it goes in the oven. That way, the dough doesn't spread as much, and the middle stays super soft.

In short, we can't trust DHS, and our local airport authority, the MAC, is spineless. Suggest we follow the Seattle model, where flights are loaded/unloaded on webcam and numbers are compiled into monthly report. We suggest improving further by adding provision to escort in-situ observers.

Policy Concerns

DHS is an unreliable source of information

State airport authority, MAC, oversees MSP, is appointed by governor, mayors

MAC is laissez-faire with observation, advocacy, protests

MAC defers comment acknowledgment of ICE Activity at MSP to DHS

Lack of opinion is fine, but acknowledging reality would be positive step

ICE took airport employees who’d cleared fed background checks

19% of July’s ICE arrests took place at MSP

MAC cannot rely on unions and heavyset hippies for difficult talking points

Policy Solutions

MAC policy update allowing comms to acknowledge ICE activity at MSP

State: statute requiring MSP follow Seattle model, with some extras:

Livestream ICE Air activity

Email notice for inbound flights

Monthly reports on activity

Escort media/non-profit observers in-situ

Federal: abolish ICE, other misc. fantasies

For one final task, I asked Wren for a good way to spend that $44.99 it had saved me. At this point, it knew my life pretty well. I thought it might suggest something altruistic, like donating the money to charity or buying flowers for my girlfriend, who was recovering from surgery.

Instead, it suggested something even better — buying bowls from Heath Ceramics, a local ceramics maker with a dedicated following, on Facebook Marketplace, one of my favorite pastimes.
