On his 58th birthday, Goessling met his birth mother in person and later connected with his biological father over the phone. When Goessling asked what he did for a living, his father mentioned he was a musician preparing to tour through St. Louis that summer.

"And I said, 'Are you Michael McDonald?" Goessling said. "And he said, 'Yeah, I'm afraid so."

At the store reading the news
A printed note on a supermarket shelf:

The current shortage of sardines is primarily due to environmental and supply chain factors.
Key Reasons for the Shortage
Environmental Changes: Warmer ocean temperatures have disrupted the plankton supply, which is essential for sardine populations. This has made sardines harder to catch.
Export Restrictions: Morocco, the leading exporter of sardines, has halted frozen sardine exports to protect domestic supplies and stabilize prices.
• Increased Demand: There has been a surge in popularity for canned sardines, leading to higher demand that outpaces supply.
Global Supply Chain Issues: Various logistical challenges have compounded the availability of sardines in stores.

Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay from September 16, 1906.
In this installment, the Princess is taking Nemo to meet her father, but he is heavily guarded. First they must walk under several ten ton blocks that are suspended by rope. There are guards standing by to cut the rope if Flip were to approach. Then they must walk through a room in which a dozen cannons are lined up on both sides ready to be fired by more guards standing behind them. Then they have to ride in a small lift that is carrying them over a fire. Another guard is standing by to cut the wire holding the lift if needed.
