Went out with friends Thursday night and have been in bed since I got home because of my fucking hip. Reading Terry and the Pirates in-between sleeping jags, but can't fall asleep today (since last night) for all the meds inside me. At least I have my Winky cat curled up next to me. Ugh ugh ugh.

Tonight's watch was a Koji Shiraishi double feature, Welcome to the Occult Forest: The Movie (2022, extended cut) and About a Place in the Kinki Region (2025, aka Kinki). If you liked Noroi you'd probably dig Kinki, if you liked Occult, Cult and Senritsu Kaiki Files you'll like Forest. I liked both.

Sold what I believe is my last remaining 90's cover, drawn 31+ years ago. Miss that sweet Marvel paper to this day.

The original art for the cover of Dork number 3 from 1995. It features Myron the Living Voodoo Doll, myself and my wife, Sarah.

A close up of the upper left corner of the cover. There's a date stamped that reads February 28 1995 along with the stamped image of Fibby from my old series Pirate Corp$!, aka Hectic Planet. The Fibby stamp also has my name on it. I used to stamp the backs of all my pages with the Fibby stamp and the date. I still try to do it but I don't make many comicpages these days.

A nice surprise from @oni-press.bsky.social showed up on the doorstep. I wasn't aware that the story I did with Lukas Ketner, et al, had been included in this nifty oversized TREASURY OF TERROR paperback. It collects stories across the various @eccomics.bsky.social revival titles. Winky approves.

Today's Free Horror on Tubi: AU/NZ slow-burn largely-housebound horror w/terrific atmosphere, some solid tension set pieces, an Argento-worthy corpse and a wild ending. Stumbles here and there, def not for the impatient slasher fan. Hard to see for yrs, and poss overhyped, but a strong rec from me.

When my first pitch was accepted I was told to use The Tormentor, they were having her head the Catacomb of Torment series which is where all my stories have run. I like her best of the three so that worked out well, I'm working on a fourth. Glad you're enjoying them.

Old comic I think of every once in a while for reasons.

A four panel comic about how it feels when people praise someone who you think is kind of terrible. Not because of their work but because of their actions, which you observed in person. I know there are plenty of people who feel the same way about me and I get it, but I think there's a difference between obnoxious and/or rude and thief, career killer or creeper/menace. And I wasn't completely kidding about the "perhaps he's changed" bit, because I know some folks have for the better and I hope I have. I also thought someone else had. C’est la vie. Anyway, I post this comic from time to time. I should update it for future use. "Twitter"? WTF is that?

Today's Free Horror on Tubi is a troubled UK/RUS/UKR production directed by an IT that channels Bava, Argento, Fulci, Lovecraft, nunspoitation. I really dug it for the most part but it leaves many cold. Not to be confused w/Dark Water (2002 JP/2005 US), 8+ other Dark Waters or 4+ Dark Water titles.
