I can't believe it took a decade, an attempted coup, and the worst war in US history since Vietnam for the mainstream media to just print verbatim what Trump says.

My neighbor told me the Middle East keeps eating his carrier groups so I asked how many carrier groups he has he said he just goes to PACOM and gets a new carrier group afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding carrier groups to the Middle East and then Pete Hegseth started crying.

These are people who know exactly one line from the “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and, after eschewing historical context as the weapon of the coward and also bravely misremembering what that one line actually says, conclude that white liberals were worse than the Klan

The Biden dementia theory has been conclusively disproven, as has the theory that he didn’t use leverage to force Israel to accept a ceasefire (which they did multiple times). No one will ever admit they got these things wrong.

FWIW, I think a fuckup on this scale in time to wreck them electorally was *almost* inevitable from Day 1, precisely because this is the Special Birthday Boy presidency in which there are almost no limits on Trump's madness and every proposed policy disaster has a real shot at going all the way.

FATALITY
A tweet from Joyce Carol Oates: overall takeaway from the Curtis Yarvin profile is that there must be millions of smart-aleck show-offy kids who annoy their teachers and go on to annoy other adults through their lives with their “contrarian” pose that hardens to a carapace over their faces; until, as adults, they still harbor a delusion that, if there is a king, or a fuhrer, he’d be impressed with the guys motor mouth and appoint him to his cabinet rather than deleting him with a negligent swipe of his wrist as Stalin did routinely.

In the months following, and with tons of criticism from the UN, the GHF was responsible for many “aid distributions” that turned into massive slaughters. Nearly every independent organization pointed to GHF as a gross attempt by Israel to further weaponize aid. Trump was a partner in this.

in reality Democrats are the only US party interested in child benefits. conservatives and centrists hate the welfare state, they think the working class must be forced to work by the threat of destitution. so every policy must have a work requirement, which is impossible for stay at home parents

the biggest point of leverage right now is to simply let capitalism work, as opposed to digital feudalism. people like Thiel have said over and over again that they do not like competition and see the founder-king as a heroic figure that should have maximum power to do as he sees fit

If literally all of the people in charge of the AI industry were scientologists, and they were saying we all need to pay attention to them and give them money and do what they say because the AI has thetans, we'd understand that maybe we should read the things they write with a skeptical eye

Read this again when someone tells you that the democrats are gearing up to go transphobic or don’t fight for us.
Do they settle because it costs a lot of money to litigate? Because they're at risk of losing federal funding? What are the ways that the Justice Department is able to coerce these hospitals?
Rep. Grace Meng: I mean, all of the above, right? I'm the top Democrat on the Appropriations
subcommittee that oversees all the DOJ funding. And we have seen this as we've been negotiating our budgets with them. They tried to include over 50 anti-GBTQ riders, what we call poison pills, into the budget. And we, as House Democrats, were able to take them all out. But they wanted to insert 52 pieces of wording and legislation that would have restricted medically necessary health care for transgender people, basically allowing taxpayer-funded discrimination against same-sex couples, blocking any non-discriminatory and DEl-type efforts.
But they are persistent, so they try it through the budget process, and they can't do that. Obviously, they're trying to cheat by coercing these hospitals:
