Found the email I sent when I got accidentally added to the faculty listserv of an orthopedic surgery clinic and nobody would remove me so I sent this email to all faculty/staff/med students and they removed me almost immediately
Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

As an early celebration of STAR TREK's 60th anniversary (and also because I wanted to be able to link to this quote in tomorrow's Stream On), here's a look back at the carefree innocent days of 2017, when Jason Isaacs told me why he doesn't care for tribbles.
Among Captain Lorca's quirks is the fact that has a pet tribble on his desk - though Isaacs was not personally too excited about the iconic and adorable "Trek" creature.

"I wasn't a fan of the silliest episodes of the original series, just because Shatner, particularly - well both of them, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy - managed to make the most absurd things seem epic, and serious, and high stakes," he said. "But even they, with their gargantuan skill set, couldn't make a bunch of merkins into something that felt dangerous."

(This statement made IndieWire laugh pretty hard, even though Isaacs was worried people might not know what a merkin is, suggesting that we "might put a hyperlink in.")

I wrote about THE ADOLESCENCE OF UTENA. I've loved this one for a long time. Some of the most pleasurable animation of the late 90s. www.patreon.com/willowcately...
I became enamoured with the stylistic flourishes of Kunihiko Ikuhara when anime began to appear on Cartoon Network in the late 90s. I was drawn to the excessively feminine style of Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon. I wanted to live in that world of bold, primary pastel colors, and fashion-forward teenagers fighting off astrological nightmare demons inside of malls and high schools. It was like catnip for me, and Ikuhara was one of the primary creatives working on the anime. Ikuhara also directed my favorite of the eventual film adaptations. Sailor Moon R: The Movie – The Promise of the Rose is something of a precursor to the more experimental, but no less excessively feminine Revolutionary Girl Utena series that they eventually adapted for their own studio Be-Papas. Sailor Moon R: The Movie is awash in gardens, flowery symbology and suggestive queer coupling brought about by transformations. All of these factors are shared with the Utena series and movie, but the primary difference between Utena and Sailor Moon is that the beauty of the images can sometimes have a negative connotation in Utena. Utena is not beholden to adolescent fantasy, despite what its title suggests. The morbidity and potential dangers of growing up and learning who you are is centralized by the crushing rigidity of the shifting nightmare architecture of the Castle Ohtori Academy and the secrets it entails. Ikuhara said of the series and film, “In Utena, we wanted to express a negative beauty as well as positive beauty throughout”, and this is foregrounded in moments of deep psychological fracture and melancholy. The Adolescence of Utena is shaded in mystery, as if the creators are invested in hiding the most horrific truths that haunt these characters. On the surface, it’s about Utena, a pink-haired tomboy, who dresses in a boy’s uniform, and pulls a sword from the beating heart of her beloved Princess Anthy, and fights for the right to her hand as lovers, but there are plenty of suggestive nightmaa still image from The Adolescence of Utena of two characters dueling on a platform

This is pretty well known, but the Australian flag Sam Neill wore on his uniform in Event Horizon was designed at his request to show the Union Jack replaced with the Aboriginal flag, because he hoped in the future this is how it would actually look. A proper fucken ally in every way, this bloke.

This is Chootie. He looks like a dog, but from one of those 15th century paintings done by someone who had only ever heard about dogs. 12/10 (IG: chootieboy)
a very fluffy white creature with light brown markings on its back and ears is resting flat on some concrete tiles with a body like a slightly inflated bearskin rug. his legs and tail are merely puffy nubs, but his front paws are completely shaved for hygiene purposes, giving him the grabby-hands look of a feral raccoon. his face is an exuberant expression, with all his features slightly too close together, including his mismatched and somewhat human brown and blue eyes. he is simultaneously ridiculous and delightful.

A story I love about Anthony Stewart Head. Thank you to this person for sharing it on Tumblr. What a mensch.
A photo of Tony Head with a fan, standing in a barn near a horse. Tumblr post from dracofidus: If you EVER think Anthony Head is anything less than an angel then you'd best remember that I have always been a huge fan of his and we've always had a little contact over the years and he heard I'd come out as Trans and was having a hard time and that I was kind of sad that the photos I had from conventions with him were of me with long hair and no binder and they were all signed to "Sarah" and so he invited me to spend the day with him at his farm and he picked me up from the station and we just hung out and had lunch and he insisted on paying and look loads of photos and had them printed on photo paper the same day so he could sign them to Jay, along with other photos of him as Giles and Utger and he literally spent five hours chatting with me and got all the pronoun stuff right every time and then he dropped me off at the station, gave me a massive hug. Waved me through the ticket barrier and insisted I message him when I got home so he knew I was back safe.
