Supreme Court again blocks GOP's attempt to reinstate its congressional map, ending fight
The ruling, the high court's third in as many weeks, appeared to finally end a saga that began a year ago when Missouri Republicans undertook an unprecedented mid-decade redistricting.

In contrast, a statistical model based purely on (a) historical error of primary polls and (b) the high quality polling of the race (Marquette and Impact were at Hong+11 and 13) would have given Crowley a 25% chance. Fundamentals probably even higher for him (Hong was outspent by about 13x)

Mr. Vance got to the point. They needed to invoke the Insurrection Act, swiftly, to crush the unrest in Minnesota. It would be painful in the short term, he said, but the message it would send - that paid agitators could not get away with disrupting ICE operations — would make sure no one tried it again. (There was no evidence that either Mr. Pretti or Ms. Good
had been paid activists.)

It should be legal to build homes that I do not personally want to live in. Not every home will serve everyone at every stage of life. Families are not the only people who need housing. New housing primarily benefits the people who get places to live, not the investors who make money on it.
Opinion: San Diego's housing fix is breaking
Mission HillsThe city knows these units aren't for families. The market knows it, too. A comparable 53-unit micro-unit building one block away has been open for more than two years and is running at roughly 57% occupancy. Micro-units in Mission Hills are not filling a housing need. They are filling an investment thesis.
Complete Communities was designed to accelerate the production of housing near transit corridors — a genuinely good idea. But the program's increasing density incentives have created a perverse outcome: maximum extraction for out-of-town investors, minimum benefit for the communities absorbing the projects.
