in no particular order, my answer to this. I limited myself to shows I've seen every episode of, and there are some heavy-hitters I have really enjoyed I just haven't finished yet (Mad Men, Barry, Archer, Fargo, Friday Night Lights, etc.) some of which would probably be here if I'd seen all of them.

Dave Conte, responding to JCO mocking the idea that Real Time is "one of the best tv shows": Oh Lord. Out of touch on this one. Obama, Clinton, even Trump all watch his show. It’s not so much Maher himself but the way the show brings Dems and Repubs together to talk/debate intelligently and civilly. Again, 41 Emmy nominations. You should try giving it a watch. You might be surprised.

JCO: yes, I have seen Bill Maher but don't recognize much of what you say here. "talk/debate intelligently & civilly"---really? I must have missed this.
his entire attitude toward "woke" is superficial, predicable, & unexamined; he seems scarcely to comprehend out of what extremities & desperation "woke" arose initially, & confuses the annoying pieties & cringe-worthy foolishness of peak woke with the actual/literal/killing policies & actions of the anti-woke MAGA reactionaries. it's like equating an edgy Pogo cartoon with the KKK lynching civil rights activists in the 1960's. yes: they really did kill people! really, Bill.

you have to have a granite heart & head even to pretend that the two are in any way "equivalent" & that your reasoned position is to hover between the two like the Biblical Solomon.
