Colour me cynical, but I've read the handful of interviews Sharma has given since she took on the role and I feel like they have (almost) all been carefully curated profile pieces that say absolutely nothing about the state of the biz.

This quote is also especially odd in the context in which it's presented. Seems like she was asked about the huge protest during her Bethesda visit and how long her very overt charm offensive can last. "In life there is only winning and learning." Xbox, right now, appears to be in neither camp.

I have read the NYT piece on Sharma and we have her acknowledging the need for "disruption" and "clarity" without providing any tangible solutions to the challenges facing Xbox. That's alongside a paragraph claiming Xbox's chief strategy officer has been 'tutoring' reporters. Whatever that means?

I’m in my hometown helping take care of my mom after surgery. my mom is 75, kind of a hilarious New Englander, and today remarked on how often people in TV/movies “throw each other into the walls” when they have sex. “That looks uncomfortable!!”

This is so important. They’ve broken the economic models that fund journalism is because they recognize the *purpose* of journalism threatens their bullshit-based valuations, ie, the sources of their wealth and power. Yet actual-existing journalists were instead crucial for creating their myths.
