Our paper is now out in Advanced Science ! This study adds our lab's work exploring how autoantibodies can directly drive pain, extending our previous work on CV2/CRMP5. Many painful neuropathies are shaped by autoantibody-driven mechanisms. There is more to come 😉 #PainResearch

So true. I would argue that most basic biomedical science does not depend on p-values yet almost everyone ignores this. For instance, pharmacology as a discipline is almost entirely independent of p-values at its core. A statistical test is unneeded for how a ligand interacts with receptors.

So excited to share our preprint uncovering FGFR3 autoantibodies as pathogenic drivers of pain sensitization. Using patient serum, human DRG and rat models, we found that autoantibodies can find FGFR3 on sensory neurons to induce hyperexcitability and hypersensitivity. #PainResearch #Autoimmunity
