The Greens continue to be *extremely good* at communications strategy, and their policy-led approach keeps breaking through into wider media. #nzpol Wouldn't surprise me if this is a trap to let them compare the benefits of rail/roads in debates, as well as a sincerely great policy on its merits.

Seems to me that it’s gone beyond the normal amount of ‘stretching the truth’ you might expect at an election. National appears to be deliberately breaking its connection with reality and facts; waging a post-truth election campaign.

There’s absolutely no cogent argument for not allowing 16 year olds to vote. There’s plenty of people in their 50s less civically aware and educated than many teens, and the teens have a larger stake in the future

Today I went along to the debate organised by our local Youth Council & I’d love to underline the need to lower the voting age to 16. Young people don’t get involved in politics because it’s intangible to them at high school. There’s no point in teaching “civics” if the kids can’t access it. #nzpol

Talking to my favourite local barista this morning, who's told me in the past that he voted National last election and really regrets it. Today he told me he'd done the policy quiz and it'd told him to vote Green! Had a looong chat about taxing the rich and our other policies, as well as the poll!
