I think many people are still thinking of being a stay at home parent as a choice, but almost none of us made that choice because it was best for our family or kids - we made that choice because it made the most sense *financially* given then cost of child care

Poor bedraggled bee. It’s been raining or misting here for a while. As I walked to my shop, I noticed one of our shrubs - each group of flowers had a single bee perched on it. Their fuzz is all wet and clumped. Hopefully they’ll feel better after the sun comes out again.

I interview a lot of college-age people for internships and they do not take the opportunity casually. I kind of hate how younger people are criticized for being overly casual when my experience is that they are wildly talented and care so much about coming across well. They are lovely. ❤️
