Fuck off. There is no such thing as ethical AI use within the terms of copyright generally understood by authors and required by us to make a living. This is surrender.

Have had that horrible experience of being asked to change the briefest paragraph in one of my books so a particular foreign publisher could avoid arrest in that country’s massive LGBTQ+ crackdown. I had to decline and therefore not be published - you don’t negotiate with tyrants - but what a world.

Suella Braverman selling 106 copies of her book after all that publicity is so delicious.
Crack 'em while you can, though, because Suella's star might just be on the skids. Despite plugging her book on Question Time, on Tim Shipman's Spectator podcast, in serialised excerpts in the Daily Mail, and in a fawning interview with Allison Pearson in the Telegraph, in its opening weekend, Patriot sold precisely 106 copies.

Rowling kinda giving the game away here given that the only way her response is even remotely kinda almost coherent is if you understand that her problem is trans people existing at all. Sexual assault is already a crime, her issue is she thinks trans ppl existing gave him the idea and/or the cover

The party pooper thing about the Mark Wahlberg 9/11 saga is that there is zero actual proof he was ever meant to be on one of the planes. Unlike Seth Macfarlane. Wahlberg appears to have made the scenario up and it's on Wikipedia as a fact. And that's not even among the worst things he's done.

Because streaming movies aren’t real movies… I recently found out Jean Pierre Jeunet has asci-fi movie BIG BUG out on Netflix since 2021 And it’s interesting. Not great. As you’d expect from Jeunet, the color green is everywhere & looks like nothing else. But the story is shrill & episodic.

Henry Jaglom seems to me to be really good at having interesting things happen in the background or sides of his movies. His friend Jack Nicholson in a party scene, Larry David wanders in & out. Orson Welles does a witty line. Then the main characters just seem more dull.
