🧵Pathetic undermining of the rules-based, international order by the Trump administration. The US doesn’t recognise the ICC, yet feels emboldened to impose financial sanctions which impede its role as the ultimate arbiter of international law.

Polanski's excuse for not having voted on the "Zionism is Racism" motion appears to have been that he had to leave conference to go campaign in Holborn & St Pancras. But the Green Party explicitly offered an option allowing members to register to vote online. He could have voted from London.
CONFERENCE registration
All paid-up Green Party members are eligible to attend Conference and vote.

Book for one day, two days, or all three.
Attend in person (voting rights and access to all sessions) or online (voting rights, access to pre-Conference workshops and plenaries).
Choose the fee level which is right for you: Standard or Lower Income (fees are set out below).
Book before 1 September to take advantage of the early bird pricing.
Registrations will close at midnight on 25 September.

Labour's candidate Sagal Abdi-Wali was a clear asset to Labour in the by-election: on her personality and approach. Voters felt she had strong local connections to the area - as she of course did, having lived in the area since she was a child, after being born 4000 miles from Camden in Somalia

There we have it. Reform officially ditches its pledge - or rather, its 2024 "contract" with voters - to back proportional representation. A clear breach of contract... Via Politico:
In other Reform news: Second-in-command Richard Tice finally admitted that now the voting system Farage has long railed against could help him win a general election, the party no longer wants to scrap it. Farage used to want first-past-the-post replaced with a form of proportional representation.

Here’s the line: “In order to rescue the country from the gravity of the chaos that we face, actually a proper majority is needed from a right of center, conviction-led Reform government,” Tice told Times Radio this morning. Asked whether that meant Reform no longer wants electoral reform, he said: “Yes, because the crisis is so great.”
