Kind of insane that Taskmaster didn't make that NYT list. It includes plenty of UK stuff (Fleabag, The Office, Peep Show) and at least one unscripted (Survivor) so the only thing I can attribute this to is a complete lack of taste and sense.

At Goodwill today, I found a hardcover copy of Spock's World by @diane.dianeduane.com , quite probably my favorite Trek book of all time. I prefer e- and audiobooks these days, but this one is truly special to me so I had to have it.

For reasons I've never been able to discern, there's a house in our neighborhood with a peacock. Sometimes I'll walk by the house with the peacock and think "oh, he's hiding this morning." Then I'll get 2 or 3 houses further down the block and think JESUS CHRIST IT'S A FUCKING DINOSAUR

Star Wars: Episode 1 was a magnificent cultural phenomena heavily utilizing fast food and snack tie-ins. Beautiful. Episode 2 was a kid's cartoon featuring "romance" and war crimes. Episode 3 was a sweeping Shakespearian tragedy, with war crimes, seemingly written by my 10 year old self.

The Special Edition is fine. Lucas added ADR lines (I spotted one that had been added between my HBO-recorded copy and one I got from the video store) and “EPISODE IV” in earlier iterations. He was always tweaking this thing and it’s really just not that big a deal.
