It has occurred to me during this second Trump presidency that the country is seeing EXACTLY what happens when you put an alleged businessperson in control. They act solely for the benefit of shareholders (i.e. anyone they think is powerful or wealthy enough to scratch their back).

The Schmitt thing is kind of scary because it shows just how much many elected Rs genuinely believe the crazy stuff. He and his staff thought they’d pulled the red thread on The Giant Conspiracy. They were so convinced it must be real they didn’t even think to double check.

Being a billionaire must be insane. You can buy new teeth, new skin. All your chairs cost 20,000 dollars and weigh 2,000 pounds. Your life is just a series of your own preferences. In terms of cognitive impairment it's probably like being kicked in the head by a horse every day

🚨📢 BIG update from Invivyd on the VYD2311 monoclonal antibody program.

As a reminder, VYD2321 is an intramuscular mAb designed as a vaccine alternative for the broad population, with an efficacy expectation of providing 70-90% protection against symptomatic COVID for 3 months, and 50% at the 1-year mark.

• The LIBERTY trial demonstrated safety and tolerability superior to mRNA vaccine (wow, big surprise)

• Importantly, co-administration with a COVID vaccine demonstrated no interference with vaccine-induced neutralizing titers

• Following a meeting with U.S. FDA, Invivyd will be submitting a BLA application for accelerated approval, based on safety and antiviral titers. This will be done while keeping clinical outcomes in the main DECLARATION trial blinded, so they can continue accumulating COVID events to ensure statistical power for the efficacy estimate of 70-90%

But I have also seen far, far too many instances of calls for “accountability” ultimately being leveraged to advance coercive control, usually of someone already socially marginalized. In viral online harassment campaigns, in intracommunity conflicts, and in abusive relationships.

Seeking “accountability” as a political goal does not appeal to me. Not on a macro or a micro scale. I don’t take responsibility for changing hearts or minds. And, too often, it seems to run cover for certain styles of intimate coercion. When my enemies make themselves I take them at their word.

If someone is doing real damage and demonstrates a sustained lack of interest in accounting for it then, imo, the time for talking about “accountability” is over. Then it’s time for talking about how to best attack and undermine their power to do that damage. Changing their heart is not a factor.

Overview
juno Rylee Schultz (also known as Juno Stump) is an independent American journalist, novelist, writer, and artist based in Oklahoma.
Career and Work
Schultz runs an independent media platform, juno Rylee journalism, where she publishes cultural reporting, music journalism, and essays. Much of her work is distributed through her series Girl Music, which covers a wide array of topics including essays on specific musical artists (such as Mac Miller, Nirvana, and Leadbelly), cinema analysis (such as Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides and David Lynch's Twin Peaks), and profiles of independent artists.
Substack +5
Schultz shifted fully to an independent, ad-free publishing model on her website after losing her previous corporate bylines. In addition to her journalism, she publishes creative writing, including the drama story EASY FRIEND (co-written with Liz Ransdell) and poetry collections through platforms like itch.io. She also releases music via Bandcamp.Style and Social Media Presence
She is notable for her distinct online style, intentionally formatting her name with a lowercase
"j" because she dislikes the appearance of capital J's ("juno Rylee Schultz"). Her work is primarily shared across alternative decentralized media spaces, notably maintaining an active presence on Bluesky and Substack.
