Gets harder still if we add live-action as a proviso, in that I think you probably could get eight episodes of c75 minutes of cosy and slow but good TV out of Wind in the Willows but in live action, no.

Marvin stared at the painting of his great grandfather, who had survived two wars, worked three jobs to support his fourteen children, and eventually died saving a box full of kittens from a fire, and thought to himself, "You know, if I knocked that over, I could sleep on it."

In the banter timeline, ITV Studios wins the tender to make Doctor Who.
HTM is one of several production outfits bidding for Doctor Who. Line of Duty producer World Productions has submitted separate plans to reimagine the Time Lord after CEO Simon Heath recently mooted his interest in the Doctor Who tender. Sources said that World is effectively spearheading ITV Studios' efforts to land the contract. World Productions declined comment.

Turns out that Herman Hesse's novel The Glass Bead Game, about a monastic sect of European intellectuals, has inspired various people to try and make their own version of the eponymous game. Which is left deliberately vague in the book because, you know, how it works isn't really the point. Ah well.
Four men, whom an unkind observer might describe as a "bunch of old hippies", playing a Glass Bead Game of, presumably, their own devising.

The magnificence of the mushroom
Post
I'm studying biotech and every time someone brings up mushrooms our current professeor will look either extremely excited or pained and go, "listen, mushrooms are neither plants nor animals nor something inbetween. We do not know what they are. Some are immortal. Some produce life-saving substances some are so closely related to humans that eating them may cause an allergic reaction against your own body. I cannot teach you about the mushrooms.

Said this before, but you could write an interesting book on the books/films/music that were huge in their time but rapidly disappeared from any collective knowledge. Only hardly anyone would read it, because they wouldn't recognise them.

E.S. Turner's "Boys Will Be Boys" is very entertaining on British story magazines, if you haven't come across it. (But it is written for a 1960s audience assumed to share both Turner's affectionate contempt for those magazines and his contemptuous incomprehension of comics.)
