Thank you once again Politico for providing a canonical example of when not to grant anonymity.
"Looks like a pussy move to send a text instead of actually saying it to someone's face. Shows what kind of character he is," a senior White House official told Playbook's Megan Messerly.

The only time this site acknowledges we are at currently at war under Trump The Peace President is to claim that Kamala Harris would have done the same thing and to attack Democrats for sabotaging the Peace President's attempts to stop this war that someone else started, probably Chuck Schumer.

Holocaust Harris doing a girlboss with Liz Cheney was the subject of more prolonged outrage from the Anti-War People than Trump the Peace President leading us into war with Iran. Saying this will get you yelled at and gaslit about how our moral betters have shown total consistency on this issue.

Along with immigration Trump attacking Bush for Iraq was one of the things that made him so popular with the GOP base in the first place, because they hated the foreign wars but no GOP leader spoke for them. Starting an Iran War for no reason really was a complete betrayal of these people.

no trouble publishing a dozen articles about ‘the threat to academic freedom’ when some invited speaker gets yelled at by students, but the gov’t illegally withholding merit-based research funds to impose an unwanted RW social agenda is written like it’s akin to disciplining an unruly child.

In what world is it the purview of the President/Executive branch “to force conservative cultural changes on academia‘? And why end the paragraph without noting that there is no legal justification whatsoever for Trump and his minions to “force cultural change” on institutions of higher education.
Inside the White House, some of Mr. Trump’s top lieutenants have expressed frustration about a perceive slowdown in the adminstration’s attempts to force conservative cultural changes on academia.

The NY Times has repeatedly used the phrase “to heel” in reference to Trump’s crackdown on universities, implicitly clarifying that Trump goal is to establish dominance. And what exactly constitutes this “woke” ideology in higher education?
During the meeting, Mr. Trump repeatedly complained about his administration’s failure to bring Harvard University in particular to heel. The administration has been unable to hammer out a deal with the nation’s oldest and wealthiest university, a central plank of his broader push against “woke” ideology in higher education.

FFS. Really important infrastructure projects shouldn't be subject to the whims of whoever happens to be in Downing Street. HS2 is a clusterfuck because twats just keep changing their minds. We should commit to big, important projects and see them through, not faff about every time we get a new PM.

the HRW statement is insane: “yeah Orban was bad but you’re moving too quickly to clean up his mess and kick the fascists out of government!” it’s legitimately a bad parody of liberalism. these people have lost the fucking plot. we do not have time to navel gaze while restoring democracy
"Hungary's new government has a mandate to set right the damage done to the rule of law during 16 years of Fidesz rule, including reversing its arbitrary stacking of key state institutions with Fidesz loyalists," said Benjamin Ward, deputy Europe and Central Asia director at Human Rights Watch. "But restoring the rule of law requires respecting due process and taking time to ensure genuine consultation before enacting sweeping constitutional changes."
