This is a great example of how broken our understanding of the nature & puprose of "art" is. When we think of art as 'good' or 'bad', or even 'creative' or 'not-creative', we're making a subjective evaluation that negates WHY that art was done, & thus blocks consideration of why that'd matter.

The point of this thread is to encourage you to think about clothes beyond abstract ideas such as "best quality." A guy who wants a really tough pair of pants will appreciate a heavy cloth; someone who prioritizes comfort might want something softer and thinner.

My photo shows a silver shell-shaped container with an eight-armed octopus in relief at the centre of the lid. The arms of the octopus curl outwards across the ridges of the shell’s surface. This ornate shell container has a hinged lid and may once have been a cosmetic container . It is displayed on a clear stand in a museum case. Dimensions: 13.3 × 13.2 × 3 cm. It is part of the Silver Treasure from Paternò, Sicily, a hoard discovered in 1909, consisting of tableware and toiletries. Dated 4th-3rd century BC.
