Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

Bridgerton is in the top ten biggest Netflix series according to Wikipedia. It is consistently the biggest selling genre in books. I do read romance books. A good romance says something about being human. So I'm with Tara on this one.

There are actually almost no “machine made” clothes. Sewing garments requires an ability to account for stretching and shifting fabrics. We can’t create robots that can do that reliably. Most of our clothes are made by highly skilled and criminally underpaid factory workers overseas.

I found a strangely effective way to easily clean or clear debris (mostly dog hair) off velvet or faux velvet display boxes...my dogs' super gentle oatmeal pet wipes. Weirdly effective. I used them to clean a super-stained light blue velvet box from like the 70s. It looks brand-new. Odd, huh?

We should all be students of history. And how many calamities related to engineering could have been avoided by studying history? Like the Titanic sailed "safely" in 1912 in generous accordance with maritime regulations for requirements like lifeboats because technology had outpaced regulation.
