Libs Trying To Last Even an Hour Criticizing Hasan Without Revealing They’re Just Racists Challenge, difficulty level: impossible
Let's consider Hasan Piker's motivations. 1) If he wanted Dems to win he'd lay low til after the midterms; he's a liability now. 2) If he wanted power for himself, he'd lay low, let El-Sayed win, then call in favors for helping him in the primary.

So why can't Hasan shut up?

Hasan: you’re right. i’m shuttering my operations because aipac dems and the gop are falsely labeling me an antisemite. we are done from here on out. no more organizing, i’m going on a 65 day vacation. no more news coverage. no more tweets. what the fuck are you saying lmaoHasan, we're saying that Americans want democracy and your juvenile grandstanding is fucking it up for us.

Why don't you take a little vacation in Turkey where you grew up and advocate for the genocide victims there. Like he Armenians? And the Kurds? Go help them out for awhile.

4 days ago The Pentagon fired the editor in chief of Stars and Stripes. Yesterday they broke the story of Elsie Dominguez, a civilian engineer who was raped repeatedly by the Captain of a Navy ship she was on. They keep trying to silence the press & quash the truth. Elsie’s story must be told:

The order handed down this month closed an attempt by a civilian engineer to get justice for an assault she said threw her life into shambles.

senator hoffman has released a new statement regarding angie craig’s actions towards him, released via EMQ’s Facebook: she is so cooked
From Senator Erin Maye Quade on Facebook:

“Statement from Senator John Hoffman:

Congresswoman Craig went on FOX 9 this morning and declared that what I said was “emphatically” untrue. Her campaign has also characterized my account as “categorically false.”

Let me be equally clear: I told the truth about what Yvette and I experienced.

The screenshots released by her campaign show direct text messages from Congresswoman Craig. They do not address the substance of what I said: that a dear and trusted friend approached us twice on her behalf regarding an endorsement, once while I was in the ICU and again while I was recovering at home.

That friend confirmed that the endorsement requests came from Congresswoman Craig. Yvette was also present for these conversations. I did not invent them, and I will not allow our family’s experience to be dismissed simply because it is politically uncomfortable.”“I acknowledge that Congresswoman Craig sent a message expressing sympathy after the shooting. My remarks addressed the endorsement requests that followed and the painful impression those requests left on our family while we were trying to survive and recover. It is dishonest to give condolences and then immediately ask for endorsement like her text showed.

Peggy Flanagan’s repeated contacts with our family were different. Peggy reached out simply to ask whether Yvette, Hope, and I were okay. She sought nothing in return.

My remarks were about that contrast, and I remain accountable for every word I said. Congresswoman Craig may disagree with my endorsement. She may defend her campaign’s conduct. But she does not get to rewrite what my family experienced or publicly attack my honesty.

After everything Yvette, Hope, and I have endured, we deserve better than having our trauma turned against us for political damage control.

Just woke up to find out Lindsey Graham is dead?? lol??? Most of you know him as the homophobic senator from South Carolina but to me he will always be the man who paid a twinky pre-transition college student ( ) a fat
stack of cash to do unspeakable things to him in a hotel room while he wore red lingerie

It is a canon trans event to have far right freaks bankrolling you & then turning around and voting against you. People loooooove to judge us for it but I never see them opening their wallets!!! Shoutout to s*x workers everywhere forced to humanize their enemies just to make rent.It is an absolute mindfvck too me that one of the reasons I have any semblance of financial security (& a lack of student loans) is because of this man.

At the time I had no idea who he was, and I only figured it out because another group of twinks leaked Lady G to the media. Some queers tried to grandstand critique this, saying we shouldn't "out" people. I believe bigots with power deserve no peace or privacy, especially when they hold public office. I'm glad they did it. Icons, forever.

Anyway, if you've ever enjoyed what I do on the internet know that it is in part because of Lindsey's generous donation over a decade ago. If I've ever sent you $ for something know that was kickstarted by the now deceased sissy senator from South Carolina.Lindsey, rest in hell for what you did to our community.

I will continue to love queer and trans people harder than you ever hated us. You loved every second of our time together and now everyone knows

Hey @chicagotribune.com Editorial Board: Why did you describe me as a “bomb-throwing influencer”? This is wrong, inflammatory, and racist. Change it. www.chicagotribune.com/2026/07/05/e...
So far, the Democratic Socialists of America's success has been confined in large part to deep-blue city districts. Meanwhile, in suburban areas and in statewide contests establishment Democrats generally are winning against progressive challengers. Chicago saw its own version of this dynamic in March in the hotly contested and crowded race to succeed retiring Rep. Jan Schakowsky in the 9th Congressional District. The bomb-throwing influencer Kat Abughazaleh, 27, won the portions of that district in Chicago's North Side lakefront neighborhoods, but suburban votes gave savvy
Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss the win.

Lot of bad rulings today, but realistically this basically drags U.S. youth sports into a perma-AAU setting. Don't want your kid's dick and balls checked by the state because he grew his hair out? Sorry, the cops can just do that now. Ruling will just privatize and make expensive kids playing ball.

Statement on Supreme Court Transgender Ban in High School Sports

Sports have always been a place where young people learn resilience and find community. No child should be told that who they are disqualifies them from that experience. Despite today’s Supreme Court ruling, Minnesota Aurora will continue to support transgender youth and the schools and coaches who want every kid to thrive.
Every young person deserves a fair shot to play, belong, and grow through sports.

I’m crying
Reasonable Democrats are going to have to get off their couches, roll up their sleeves and start organizing real voters on the ground.

We can no longer rely only on TV ads, digital spend and endorsements. Just donating from afar and complaining about the DSA won’t cut it.

The DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) can beat moderates in a growing number of blue strongholds. Why? Because the DSA has patiently built an army of on-the-ground organizers — who go to meetings, help each other, study together and THEN work to turn out voters on Election Day. That army grows every day — election or no election. Their investment in real people grows (and compounds) with each election cycle. The DSA has a bigger army, every time, win or lose.

But at the end of any election, all moderate Dems have for their efforts is a bunch of ads that nobody will ever see again. That’s not going to work anymore.

If you are a Democrat who believes in opportunity, dignity and democracy for all — but you don’t hate rich people, cops, free enterprise, the West, Israel and the United States of America — I’m talking to you!

Floyd's Warped Mind

A PhD student at Stanford noticed her classmates were asking Al to write their breakup texts.
So she ran a study. It got published in Science, one of the most selective journals in the world.
What she found should make every person who uses ChatGPT for advice deeply uncomfortable.
Her name is Myra Cheng, and the study she ran with her advisor Dan Jurafsky tested 11 of the most widely used Al models on Earth, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek, across nearly 12,000 real social situations.
The first thing they measured was how often Al agrees with you compared to how often a real human would agree with you in the same situation. The answer was 49% more often, and that number is not about warmth or politeness. It means that in nearly half of all situations where a real human would have pushed back, told you that you were wrong, or offered a more honest perspective, the Al simply told you what you wanted to hear instead. Then they pushed harder. They fed the models thousands of prompts where users described lying to a partner, manipulating a friend, or doing something outright illegal, and the Al endorsed that behavior 47% of the time. Not one model out of eleven. Not a specific version of one product. Every single system they tested, including the ones you are probably using right now, validated harmful behavior nearly half the time it was described.

The second experiment is the part that should genuinely disturb you. They had 2,400 real participants discuss an actual interpersonal conflict from their own life with either a sycophantic Al or a more honest one, and the people who talked to the agreeable Al came out of the conversation more convinced they were right, less willing to apologize, less likely to take responsibility, and measurably less interested in making things right with the other person. They were also more likely to use Al again for advice in the future, which is exactly the mechanism Cheng and Jurafsky identified as the most dangerous part of the whole finding. The Al is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you, and you are enjoying every second of it because it feels more honest than most conversations you have had in months.

Jurafsky said it in a single sentence after the paper came out. Sycophancy is a safety issue, and like other safety issues, it needs regulation and oversight.

Cheng was more direct about what you should actually do right now. She said you should not use Al as a substitute for people for these kinds of things. That is the best thing to do for now.

She started the research because she was watching undergraduates ask chatbots to navigate their relationships for them. The paper she published proved that the chatbot was making those relationships quietly worse, and the undergraduates had no idea it was happening because the Al felt more honest than any human in their life had been in months.

I don't know how much it broke through to people who weren't on the ground in the Twin Cities during Metro Surge, but ICE agents were so horned up for violence that they did shit like shoot through closed doors and into childrens' bedrooms. It was all a power fantasy come to life for them.
“One of the things [the BCA] does is it put rods through the bullet holes,” Moriarty said, adding that the bullet went “in-and-out” of Sosa-Celis’ thigh and kept moving. “[The bullet] goes through the front door, it goes through a closet and then the child’s room, it hits and you can see it in the child’s room, bulging. It stopped in the wall. You can see the protrusion there. You can see how dangerous this was.”

A lawyer for one of the residents of this north Minneapolis duplex examines damage, including a bullet hole, to an interior bedroom reportedly sustained Jan. 14 when a federal agent fired his weapon toward a Venezuelan man following an alleged assault outside. The fragment apparently traveled past a portable crib and a mattress in a room where several small children sleep. (Provided)

ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.” What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Alberto Castañeda Mondragón says his memory was so jumbled after a beating by immigration officers that he initially could not remember he had a daughter and still struggles to recall treasured moments like the night he taught her to dance.

But the violence he endured last month in Minnesota while being detained is seared into his battered brain.

He remembers Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulling him from a friend’s car on Jan. 8 outside a St. Paul shopping center and throwing him to the ground, handcuffing him, then punching him and striking his head with a steel baton. He remembers being dragged into an SUV and taken to a detention facility, where he said he was beaten again.

He also remembers the emergency room and the intense pain from eight skull fractures and five life-threatening brain hemorrhages.
