A key reason people in China are more receptive to AI than in America is that the courts there have ruled that you can't just lay people off because Claude can now do research and write code. You need a better reason than that. In America, CEOs can't wait to get rid of "low value human capital".

3 reasons why the travel bans are a bad option vs. enhanced screening: a) they are racist & inequitable b) they make it much harder to get assistance into the countries to fight the epidemic b) they stigmatize disease & push contacts and cases under the radar this all makes the situation worse.

1/ Hantavirus update as of 12pm PDT May 11: 18 passengers connected to the cruise outbreak safely arrived in the United States overnight after disembarking in Spain. Of those, 16 are now in Nebraska and 2 were transferred to Emory in Atlanta for specialized monitoring.
