Hi, thanks for posting! We do appreciate you thinking of us even though we have to moderate.

Our stance on all AI generated content (Images, Video, Voiceovers, and whatever else LLM based AI gets up to in the future):

At best, they are approximations of street fighter characters as the AI has no clue what it is trying to create. Because of this, there is no street fighter content so they are not allowed. (rule 1)

Also, they aren't allowed per our source rule. As AI sources cannot be tracked, we must assume that they use uncredited sources in the learning data. (rule 5)

Finally, AI images, video, text, and voiceovers are barely any different than posting a screenshot of a google search. The level of effort is so low that we consider it spam (rule 3).

Because of these reasons, AI art and other AI content is not allowed.

Of course! This should have been obvious! Cheating on assignments makes students learn less from the assignments! That’s why we try to prevent cheating at all in the first place! If it didn’t matter, we’d just have everyone cheat and hand out degrees after like a week of schooling!

To investigate whether skills are being lost in the field of computer science, researchers at the Al firm Anthropic in San Francisco, California, designed a randomized controlled trial in which 52 software engineers were asked to perform a basic coding task. During the exercise, all 52 participants could search the web and access instructions on how to do the task. Half of the participants were prompted to use an Al assistant as well.

Afterwards, all of the software engineers were asked to complete a quiz about what they had learnt from the task. The participants who had used an Al assistant did significantly worse on the quiz
than those who hadn't: the average score was 50% in the Al group
versus 67% in the non-Al group. The Al-assisted participants did particularly poorly on questions that required them to diagnose errors in the code, which suggests that they had failed to learn the concepts behind the code that they had just produced. The study was posted on the preprint server arXiv ahead of peer review.
The findings are of concern, especially for students and young professionals in the field, says Crowston, who is researching how the use of generative Al tools is changing the way that software developers learn and retain coding skills. "Now you have this very odd disconnect between performance and learning," he says. "People can perform at a pretty high level, because they're basically borrowing skills from the Al, but they are not developing those skills themselves."
