WHY do institutions (plural) silently DECREASE the password character limit, refusing credentials that worked before but now run afoul of the new limit? Of course they don't say why the login fails, so I don't know why until trying to reset the password. Are we going backwards in time?

Just finished _What We Are Seeking_ by Cameron Reed. You're right, @e-tolladay.bsky.social , I loved it. A fresh look at environment, intelligence, colonization, family, gender. One character is so full of sass and wisdom that I chortled or teared up nearly every time they opened their mouth.

Today's AI/capitalism nonsense: Trying to pay a bill by phone and being transferred around to 5 different LLM voice bots—one of which sounded almost like a person but in the background was dubbed in fake call center hubbub which made it harder to hear the bot (that couldn't help me either)

While moving, I found a jar of soy sauce probably there from when I moved in 15 years ago at the back of a kitchen cupboard. Tipped it out and in the jar were little rocks - salt crystals. They're beautiful - and they taste amazing.

I dropped Facebook last summer, taking the hit of isolation. I continued checking Instagram to follow my peeps who aren't anywhere else—but starting about a week ago the feed is ~40% ads. That is ridiculous and intolerable and I am not looking at it any more. Deleted app. More isolation, sigh.
