Apparently the flirt girls mostly flirted with each other. Good move, that.
“Oh God, I’m supposed to be here for the men, but actually, I’m enjoying my interactions with the women the most,” said Vortex, a 33-year-old AI executive from the Midwest with endless legs.

She went on her own journey over the course of three days. Vortex is bisexual and said shame left over from her homophobic college roommate had kept her from fully exploring relationships with women. She turned her own struggles with approaching women into a teaching tool for the men. “It actually helps them,” she said. She kissed two women and two men over the course of the weekend.

By Sunday night, the organizers had added a women-only “sapphic mingle” to the conference agenda, billed as “girl flirting.” This was due to flirt-girl demand, Chesed shared, noting that it’s “obviously not the main focus ... [but] who are we to deny the flirt girls opportunities to flirt with each other?”It was an unexpected twist. The men had paid for real-life practice, but the women were not required to provide it. The paid flirtees were asked to “flirt” for 10 hours, but it wasn’t enforced. They were encouraged to attend workshops, take breaks, and make friends, or simply remove their green wristband, which many did.

“To a first approximation there were zero women,” Aaron Bergman,(opens in new tab) 26, an AI technical consultant from Berkeley, complained in a post on X. “About 95% of the time there appeared to be zero women who were not already getting chatted up … or were otherwise busy in such a way that they definitely did not want to be distracted.” The event was OK, he conceded, “just not worth anything like $3k + 20 hours for me personally.”

I double-checked this on a couple of Xitter stat sites and it's true. Average views of the main AfD account dropped 90% and average engagement dropped by 60%. This is commercial social media for you: bots, damn bots and Russian bots.

for fucking REAL. the depth of trauma for those undiagnosed with ADHD is real. not just the way we feel like we're constantly failing (because everyone is telling us we are) but not understanding WHY because we have no context to understand other people aren't struggling with the things we are.

a consistent party would be my ideal for a 4 person party. I actually dislike when people get swapped out, I vastly prefer job systems that give characters more flexibility, even if they're limited.
000
consumerism will kill us all @totesmyname.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
if you're going for character focus, a 2 person party w/ rotating PCs would probably work better to highlight them, but imo turn based combat tends to be less engaging because you've gotta 1. do it all & 2. be efficient about it, unless you're only facing 1-2 enemies at a time

consumerism will kill us all @totesmyname.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
wasn't sure how fast a response you were looking for. More party members means more variables/possible interactions for both story & combat. & w/ combat you've got more wiggle room + option to specialize. 3-4 party members is my ideal. but it'd obv depend on the goal + balance of the game
