Sergey Brin is worth about $284 billion. After the proposed ONE-TIME 5% wealth tax, he would have roughly $270 billion. If, after that tragic loss, he spent $1 million every single day and never earned another cent, he would run out of money in the year 2766. Billionaires are an obscenity.

Latest leaflet from Count Binface in Clacton "This by-election is a farce...[If Farage wins] there could be ANOTHER by-election here soon... "Vote for me and there won't be...which means together we'll have saved taxpayers an estimated £350,000 before I even start work. Lovely stuff."
COUNT BINFACE for CLACTON

MAKE YOUR VOTE
COUNT!

MAKE 13TH AUGUST BIN DAY!

Election Communication: Count Binface, Count Binface Party, ClactonCLACTON, YOU HAVE A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!

Hello. I am Count Binface, your friendly neighbourhood intergalactic space warrior, and I'm delighted to be the main challenger to be your next MP.

Vote for me and I promise to put Clacton on the star map in a way that will live forever. And not just Clacton but also Frinton, Kirby Cross, Jaywick, Walton-on-the-Naze and of course Weeley, home of my new Bin HQ. Join forces with me and together we'll send Westminster a message they'll never forget.

I might be from another galaxy but I will be a local champion for you, standing up for the needs and interests of all constituents and making your voices heard like never before. It would be the honour of my life to conquer represent you.

WHY VOTE FOR ME?

This by-election is a farce and should never have been called. If the current MP wins, there could be ANOTHER by-election here soon, because of a parliamentary investigation. Labour, the Conservatives, the Lib Dems and Greens think this is so likely, they're not bothering to take part in this one.

Vote for me and there won't be another by-election, which means together we'll have saved taxpayers an estimated £350,000 before I even start work. Lovely stuff.

You can always vote for a 'normal' party next time. This is a free hit. It's your chance to do something different, and give the establishment something they've never seen before.

Pie chart alongside this section, headed "We have the votes to consume Reform":

Reform 27.1%
Did Not Vote 41.3%
All Other Parties (Not Running This Time) 31.6%

I will boost the region's economy, prestige and fame.
I will cut your taxes, and raise them for everyone else.
Bus fares to be capped at £1.99 and 99 Flakes to cost no more than 99p.
I promise to spend more time in Clacton-on-Sea than Washington DC.

There is precedent: no one serious ran against David Davis in 2008. Also, some guy called Andy Burnham said Davis should pay the costs of the vote.
BBC News Story from 2008: Davis 'should fund by-election'
Culture Secretary Andy Burnham has said David Davis should foot the £80,000 bill for the by-election he forced by
stepping down as an MP. He also criticised Mr Davis's
alliance with human rights group Liberty - given his backing for
capital punishment.
GETTY IMAGES Mr Burnham made his attack in an interview with the New Labour
magazine Progress. David Davis has accused Labour of
running away from debate Labour confirmed earlier that it would not be standing in the by-
election triggered by Mr Davis's resignation. Asked by Progress if he thought Mr Davis should pay for the by- election out of his own pocket, Mr Burnham said: "Yes, I do. I think
there's a bloody good case to be made for it. "Why should the resources at local level and national level be devoted
to this? Why?"

"for now we must treat this claim as unsubstantiated unless and until some further information emerges". @ciaranm.bsky.social, former Chief Executive of the National Cyber Security Centre, on Farage's claims of Russian hacking. www.linkedin.com/posts/cyberc...
Screen-shot of LinkedIn post by Ciaran Martin: "Senior figures in public life should not make unsubstantiated claims about foreign (especially Russian) state hacking against them just when something inconvenient comes out, as in this Mail On Sunday splash yesterday where Mr Farage claims the source of knowledge about his £5m gift from a crypto tycoon was hacking from Moscow.

If someone in a senior and high profile position feels they’ve been hacked and gets “counter espionage experts” to do “forensic analysis” on the phone, it would then follow that the company which does the analysis is named and that at least some technical evidence to validate the claim should be published.

More normally still, for someone of this prominence, the incident could have been reported to the National Cyber Security Centre. Since the run up to the 2017 General Election and a decision made by Theresa May to help protect the integrity of politics against foreign interference, the NCSC has been made available to help political parties on a confidential basis and several politicians from opposition parties have done so. ReformUK have failed to say whether this has happened.

So for now we must treat this claim as unsubstantiated unless and until some further information emerges."

If Starmer is challenged for the leadership & chooses to fight, something wholly new will happen. For the first time, the question of whether a prime minister is removed from power will be decided, not by MPs, not by voters at an election, but by party members. This is democratically indefensible.🧵
