It really gives the game away when the anti trans orgs are calling the election of the neo nazi party in Germany a "glimmer of hope."
A screenshot of an online article headline from "Inspecting Gender" by Genspect. The main heading reads: "Germany: A Glimmer of Hope for Sex Realists?" Below the title, the summary text asks: "Is the victory of the AfD in Germany a dark day for democracy or a glimmer of hope for sex realists? By David Allison." The bottom metadata displays the Genspect logo, "5 hours ago," and a "Listen" audio option button. In the top right corner, there is a teal "Subscribe" button alongside a circular profile avatar.

"You will never defeat us" is a very funny thing to say after you've just bailed everyone who was involved in whatever the fuck this was
All five men arrested in RAF base plot are British nationals
The five men who were arrested and subsequently released on bail are all British citizens, home secretary Shabana Mahmood has just told the Labour party conference.

She adds that the scene is “now safe” and the residents living near to the RAF base are now able to return home.

“Let this be a reminder: you will never defeat us,” he says.

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

This is a really good explainer about the mortality estimates around USAID. One big point is that dismantling USAID also dismantled one of the main sources of mortality data in some of these regions. Early indicators of mortality are very worrying.
I met with, first of all, a woman named Angelina David, who is the clinical manager in Panyijiar for the International Rescue Committee clinics. She was overseeing the clinics that were shut down and could tell me exactly what happened. It was a complete shutdown, and a scramble, because there were medicines and other things on the shelves they didn’t want looted, so they had to get out to these places—and they’re very far away. You have to travel, in some cases, seven or eight hours in order to get to the extent of what’s there.

I then went and visited some of those facilities, and I connected, with her help, to the subcounty chiefs—they’re called the payam administrators—who keep their own records of deaths. So one of the things I found was that their own records showed that they are measuring an over-all tenfold increase in child and adult deaths.

Wait. A tenfold increase?

Yes.

PRESENTER [TALKING TO CAMERA]:

It's a harrowing sight.

An unsporty person, trying to adjust to a world of sport.

[Show everybody else in the pub watching the World Cup on the screen].

But at one rehab centre in East London, there is hope.

PRESENTER:

Here, the chronically sports-repellant are given the skills they need to integrate into society.

[We see a woman in a cardigan waiting for the ball to be thrown at her to catch]

[She stand unmoving as it bounces of her forehead]

COACH:

[Cut to a to-camera interview with a UNSPORTINESS THERAPIST, sat next to a pot plant and on the wall are framed pictures of different types of ball with directional instructions - a tennis ball - HIT - a football - KICK - a rugby ball - THROW].

THERAPIST:

We have seen a sharp spike in admissions this summer

People come to us suffering the long term effects of being goths, studying arts degrees or just being shit at P.E.

We try to coach all our patients in basic rules and banter skills.

[Cut to a coach in tracksuit sat at the bar in a pub, on the stool next to him is the same poetry-reading bloke we saw earlier].

GUY:

"Ooh he's hit the woodworm...

COACH:

THERPIST [V/O]:

And when you see them reintegrate. it just makes it all worthwhile.

[The guy again, still reading poetry while all the other people look at the football, reacting to a missed goal opportunity]

EVERYBODY IN PUB:

OOOOH

GUY [a beat late]:

Ooh... woodworm.
