A #WarOnWalking. A war on biking. A war on public transit. A war on any transportation choice other than driving. A war on better cities. But a war on cars? Hardly. Cars still get most of the space, rights, budget, prioritization, etc. And any effort to add more choice is immediately attacked.

It would be useful if articles on the flu bringing the health system to the brink looked at the impact of removing free vaccines for Under 12s and the Pasifika/Maaori populations that evidence showed were most vulnerable. The brink didn’t arrive in a vacuum divorced from policy decisions. #nzpol

The first sentence is simple untrue. Road taxes only partly fund road maintenance and building. Artworks are a tiny part of project budgets, and are there, like landscaping etc, to gain community support for the work. Are popular. So this is misleading, naive, and miserable. So it goes.
